Grid Project

  1. This looks simple yet this must have taken quite some time because you needed to draw each line in the grid separately. I liked that it was a self portrait.

  4. I really like the way to make the curling/waving lines in the background as well as as the curves in your hair/eyes/face/nose. It is really difficult to make that movement while on a grid format but you did a fantastic job with it. Great work!

  5. Ok I'll start with I love your haircut and I'm glad you added it into your project. I liked that you created a self portrait, because no one else went that route. I also loved that during your presentation you were able to just open the board and surprise everyone. Very cool.

  7. The self-portrait was awesome. I liked that you did the picture on a grid already and the use of color just added to the work.

  8. I really like the way there are breaks in the line where it crosses the grid. Because of closure, our mind finishes the line so we are able to understand it. The variation in the line really makes the piece more interesting than one smooth, continuous line.

  9. It was clever to create your grid first and then fill it in with your image, similar to the way the artists we saw in class did. Its cool how even though you used a grid there are still curves in your image and from far away it doesn't look like it was done using a grid

  10. I like that you decided to use a self-portrait. The experience to study, draw and reflect upon one's self is always benefical.
